Harper's Bazaar - "10 Outdoor Wedding Venue Ideas for the Boho Bride"

"This gem of a venue embraces the natural beauty of the desert, offering a blank canvas to make your wedding distinctively yours. This site's peaceful vibes and outstanding weather offer up the cool factor of Coachella, without the pomp and circumstance of a Palm Springs celebration. In this easy-chic atmosphere, think less mid-century modern and more Baja-inspired textiles paired with wildflower arrangements."

LA Times Photo Gallery and Article

"We always thought the ruin, as it stood, would be an incredible place to have a dinner party. Dinner in the Ruin — that was our goal. We imagined entertaining in front of the majestic stone fireplace as the sun went down and the stars appeared in an evening sky. Among the discovered treasures are the hand and footprints of a small child pressed into the cement floor in front of the fireplace. Magical."

100 Layer Cake - "Desert Bridal Inspiration at The Ruin Venue"

"You’d think after all the Palm Springs weddings we’ve featured here on 100LC, we’d have felt at least a little over the desert at some point. But nope, this whole region is *still* magic to us. Probably because we’re always being turned onto hidden gems like The Ruin Venue, a venue and surreal desert landscape in Pioneertown that Sarah Falugo Photography teamed up with Lauren Talysa Santos at to show off some pretty rad bridal looks."

Green Wedding Shoes - "Krystal and Josh's Wedding at The Ruin Venue"

"We have such a fun desert wedding to share with you this morning, at a relatively unknown, but super awesome, Joshua Tree venue called the Ruin. Krystal + Josh tied the knot with a beautifully intimate ceremony, surrounded by close friends + family. They dance the night away under a full moon and filled the setting with handmade details that were as special + personal as they were stylish + unique. Krystal says, We knew we wanted every aspect of the wedding to truly represent us, so we chose a venue that allowed for us to do so. Even though that meant bringing our own tables, heaters, water – even bathrooms!"

Bold Moroccan Wedding Inspiration

"Morocco was my inspiration from the moment I stepped onto The Ruin Venue! A hidden gem, completely off the grid, tucked away just north of Pioneertown in Yucca Valley. It’s a beautiful venue surrounded by desert plants, Joshua trees, and huge boulders.

We used the 2017 Pantone color palette, along with the beautiful colors of Morocco for our color inspiration. We used rugs, pillow poufs, Moroccan tea, hummus, fruit, and cheese plates to help bring the inspiration to life!"

Palm Springs Life Highlights The Ruin Venue

"Twelve years ago on a hike in Pipes Canyon near Pioneertown, Paul Goff and Tony Angelotti discovered a 1920’s stone house, formerly owned by a mining family, and knew they had to save it.

Given its history and pristine natural setting, they saw an opportunity to recreate something special that not only they and their friends could enjoy, but that its former owners would be proud to partake in."

Lightwriter Dariustwin - "Desert Nightlife"

"Astrobandit and I checked this place out last week in Yucca Valley called The Ruin Venue which is mostly used for large parties and weddings. I set up for a few images using it's interesting outdoor features like this geometric lighting arrangement which was powered by a small generator. I really enjoyed the inside/outside feel of this place, it blends in well with the environment and makes for unique photo opportunities."

Astro Bandit - "Rustic Magic"

"In the heart of Pipes Canyon in Pioneertown, lie these magically rustic ruins that have been converted into a charming event space called The Ruin Venue. While you sit on how brilliant of an idea that is, I'm going to lead you through the beautiful location! Of course we arrived at golden hour to catch those last rays of sun, shining through the stormy clouds that were headed our direction. Fortunately, we never felt a drop of rain (although we could definitely use it!) but it created a moody element that I was surely excited about!"
